Our final stop on our road trip would be the glamours Taormina. The main town is situated at the top of a high cliff and at the bottom are a couple of beautiful beaches. Taormina is noticeably smarter than some of the other places we visited and has a host of designer shops and fancy restaurants. To get from the town down to the beach it is either a steep walk up / down or you can take a cable car. The cable car offers amazing views and runs until 1am during the summer. Like all the other beaches on the island the water was crystal clear and had breathtaking views, but it is rocky.
As it was our last place on our trip we treated ourselves to a few delicious meals and visited some amazing dining and drinking spots. We went to both of the Belmont 5⭐️ hotels, one for a cocktail 🍹 and the next day went to the other for a 10/10 meal.
Here we noticed a lot more of an international crowd with tourists coming from all over the world. At other places on our trip the majority of people on the beaches, in the bars and restaurants were all Italian but in Taormina we noticed that visitors were mainly from the UK, France and Germany.
